Rant Update
So, last week I was ranting on about the inequality of contracts. Today, I again find myself pissed-off. I paid £10 to ensure I made my appointment with the consultant. Unfortunately I had a big ktp meeting in Glasgow, and it went on a few minutes longer than I would prefer.
When I get here I am told that there is a 50 minute delay. Jeez, how difficult is it to organize? Sure, I am very grateful...
Spring
So, after 10 hours of deep, restful sleep I feel refreshed and ready to face the world - even as a one armed man.
I have re-arranged my bike test. I have organized a refund on my previous test. I see the world much more positively now. Although I wonder about my conversation tomorrow with the consultant. Another operation and 6 months out of it, or down the gym building a new physique?
And you...
Bugger
So, I only ever fall off my bike when not moving. And I did it again. Only this time I end up in hospital with dislocated shoulder. this has truly messed with my plan to pass my test on Thursday.
Motorbike Week: day 1
This week I take my motorbike licence in readiness for my US tour in July. Two days of lessons, and then pre-work test on Thursday morning.
I have not felt this scared since my car test 22years ago. I wake from those anxiety dreams where I am underprepared for my exam thinking phew, no more exams for me. And then I volunteer for this pressure. Why do I worry about evaluationso much? Why is failure...
Birthday Celebrations
So it is party time. Starting off in Langs before dinner. Romana now 26. They grow up so fast.
Rant On
So, today I delivered my poop sample and gave blood. Results back Wed for poop, but upto 2 weeks for blood. Strange.
While in the doctors waiting room I was reminded of my pet peeve. Contractual inequality. Why should it be that the organisation is always given preference over the individual. This applies as much to social contracts as it does to written contracts.
For example, I bust a gut to...
Doctor doctor
Today my itching rash was accompanied with strange feeling that a whole horse was slowly digesting in my chest. so off to the doctor to check out my tropical disease. Seems I have a gut bug that produced enzymes to which I have an allergy. Blood and poop tests needed for exact confirmation. In the meantime, allergy relief.
All change
So today. Menzies Campbell on my train, and had fun watching climbers change the movie poster on world’s tallest cinema. Now off for my annual performance review.
New iPhone camera apps
Today I downloaded a couple of new apps for the iphone’s camera. The first allows you to take images as if from an old 19th Centuary camera. The second allows me to crop, rotate, colour, frame and annotate images. Romana was my unfortunate victim-as shown below.
Home again, home again
Below you can see that last few photographs documenting the end to our journey. After the fetish market we took in the craft market. Very cheap. My juju dolls would have been much prettier and less than 5% of the Wiccan price. But as Branford pointed out, they were just wood. I had purchased powerful talisman.
The boyz spent their last pennies on elephants and figurines. In the end we had to take...
Friday the 13th
So, we saved the fetish market for Friday 13th. It couldn’t be more appropriate. A taxi drive through the poor area of town until we pulled up at the Timber Market. Nothing could have prepared us for the African funeral. The drums rhythmically encourage the Ghana lady into a trance as a large crowd of people wearing black watched on. I can see now why the Christian African people refused to...
Twin-prop to Kumasi
On Thursday we were up early again. This time to fly to our agent in Kumasi.
Firstly, we had to buy our ticket. Quite pricey, but I was reassured that this is the safest internal airline in Ghana.
When we
